NPU Capacity Building

Coordination and capacity building for integrating population and development planning is indicated as one of the major strategies of the Population Policy for South Africa, April 1998. 

During 2000 the National Population Unit developed its Strategic Focus towards a Comprehensive, Collaborative and Structured Training System for the Implementation of the Population Policy.

 A number of population and development capacity building initiatives were developed based on the Strategic Focus Towards a comprehensive Collaborative and structured Training System of the national Population Unit.
